Fundy Adventure Camp - 2026 - Bay of Fundy, NB

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Fundy Adventure Camp, 19-23 July is now open. The application deadline is 5 June 26.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT: 
This 3-day program along the Bay of Fundy includes kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, and a visit to Hopewell Rocks, where participants will have time to explore the ocean floor at low tide. Sea Kayak Moncton will lead the kayaking and support the overall experience, with instruction and opportunities to build outdoor skills throughout the program. Participants should be comfortable with moderate physical activity and changing weather conditions. The focus is on getting outdoors, trying different activities, and spending time in a supportive group environment, with a chance to connect with others, learn new skills, and enjoy a few days in a unique coastal setting. 

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the New Brunswick, PEI and Alberta who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.

TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Travel assistance will be provided and coordinated by the Soldier On Regional Coordinator in conjunction with Soldier On Operations. The most economical means of transportation to and from events will be prioritized and discussed with members via the event OPI or delegate.

Meals will be provided throughout the event, meal purchased while traveling will be eligible for reimbursement.

Accommodations will be arranged and paid for by Soldier On. Accommodations consist of Base Quarters, individual tents and double/triple occupancy for the last night at the Ranch.

Mental & Physical Requirements:
Participants must be able to take part in moderate physical activity over multiple days (6-8 hours per day), including walking on uneven terrain and functioning safely in a group outdoor setting. This includes sleeping in tents for the duration of the program and managing basic outdoor camping conditions. They must be able to follow instructions, work cooperatively, adapt to changing conditions, and communicate needs or limitations. All physical and mental health conditions must be manageable in a way that allows safe participation in structured outdoor programming. 

A weight limit of 230 lbs (113 kg). is required for the kayak and horses, therefore all participants must not exceed this limit.

Kayaking: Participants must be able to safely enter and exit a kayak with assistance if needed, wear a life jacket for extended periods, and follow on-water instructions. 

Horseback Riding: Participants must be able to mount and dismount a horse with assistance and follow guide instructions while in control of the animal. 

Hiking: Participants must be able to walk on uneven terrain such as trails, inclines, sand, and shoreline for extended periods. Participants are required to carry a small daypack with approximately 2 liters of water. Comfortable footwear and the ability to manage sustained walking are required.

Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment. Applicants are advised that the activity and meals for this event is/may be located at Canadian Armed Forces bases/facilities, and thus they may be exposed to a day-to-day military environment. Applicants also acknowledge that there will be no alcohol allowed in the accommodations, and will be required to share accommodations.
